On June 22, 2022, Mary Ann Ruiz was named a 2022 Leader in the Law by the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL), during The Florida Bar Convention. Ms. Ruiz was nominated for the award by the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (MDFAWL).
The Leader in the Law award is a special distinction awarded to outstanding women who have made significant impacts and meaningful contributions in their communities through their legal service or volunteer activities, and who have provided a positive role model for FAWL members.
Ms. Ruiz received this honorable recognition for her dedication to advancing the cause for nursing mothers by advocating for FAWL’s courthouse lactation room bill and securing funding for new and existing lactation rooms, her ardent support for our local judiciary, and her passion for advocating for condominium law reform.
